solitude sunday at the whimsey project. our day to spend time with a book. a book we have long intended to read or one new to us. no matter! just read and enjoy.
my book is the second in thomas cahill's hinges of history books, the gifts of the jews: how a tribe of desert nomads hanged the way everyone thinks and feels. while this book is about the jewish people, i had to read more than fifty pages before getting anywhere near a person who could be considered jewish. the historical background that preceded was more than informative; it put what was to come in great perspective.
