miscellaneous

rain, rain, rain.  a week of rain. and chilly.  no porch sitting currently.

the four wee kittens are all romping about the playhouse now.  one could imagine it's their house and they are playing outside.  two yellow, one calico, one brindled; so cute they are.

mama and papa goose are rearing their gosling with great care.  as a result the little one is thriving. so big already!

lady raccoon wasn't happy with me this week.  with all the rain (and i mean ALL the rain) i didn't go out as much with food for the birds. when i feed the birds, i have food for the raccoon. she got me.  she tore up one of the bird feeders but good. there is now food out for both the raccoon and the birds.

two hummingbirds.  they zoom and chase each other away from the feeders. i wonder if the nectar tastes better with antics included. they have discovered the hummingbird vine next to the side door. oh, the choices! where to begin!

while sitting on the porch last sunday, a bird's song caught my attention. it was lovely and reminded me of the beginning notes of a classical music piece. although these notes were the bird's song, i half expected the rest of the symphony to unfold.

our whimsical wednesday activity of taking a chance update: i replanted the failing african violet transplant from mom.  the replants are limping along.  i haven't given up as yet.
