whimsical wednesday
whimsical wednesday at the whimsey project! our day to engage in activity! today we are catching up on our writing. to review we have many writing opportunities:
*a themed journal: writing about a particular subject. i keep a farm journal.
*a personal journal: your thoughts.
*a memory book: a place for random memories.
*a notable notebook: ideas, quotes, stuff you want to hang onto; miscellaneous.
writing on a regular basis is a good idea. it keeps the words flowing. seize opportunities! if something comes to mind write it down; even if that means jotting notes on the nearest piece of paper and then writing in the journal. nothing is too dumb to include. if it matters to you, it matters. if you don't keep any of these journals, whimsical wednesday is a great day to begin!

miscellaneous monday at the whimsey project! our day to share all sorts of stuff. you have stuff! share it!
on this day in history, july 20, 1969, the first moon landing occurred. apollo 11 carried neil armstrong, buzz aldrin and michael collins to the moon. the first man to alight on the moon was neil artstrong soon followed by buzz aldrin. michael collins manned the spacecraft. it was an amazing day for those who witnessed it via live television, including me. to view the historic event follow this link to youtube; there are several videos to enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTBIr65cL_E

ever wonder why there are so many places across the country that are of the same name? the example of lewelling henderson provides part of the answer to this question. he was born in salem, north carolina. as an adult he moved around a lot. he founded salem, ohio. and salem, indiana. and salem, illinois. and salem, iowa. and salem oregon! mr henderson was a busy guy.
