i read somewhere..... that the author, roald dahl, wrote charlie and the chocolate factory (the movie is entitled willy wonka) from a boarding school experience he had growing up.  his boarding school was offered test batches of chocolate from the cadbury candy company. mr dahl so enjoyed this that his dream was to create a chocolate bar to impress mr cadbury.  he didn't create a chocolate bar; instead he created an entire world of chocolate in his children's book!

share your trivia with the whimsey project this trivia tuesday!

  1. Neat! When we lived close to a Nestle factory, our neighbor was in quality control--he would bring new candy bar ideas for us to sample and give our opinion. One was a peanut butter, like Reeses, but not sure they ever got that one perfected. Hard to beat Reeses.
