miscellaneous monday at the whimsey project! our day to share all sorts of stuff.  you have stuff! share it!

on this day in history, july 20, 1969, the first moon landing occurred.  apollo 11 carried neil armstrong, buzz aldrin and michael collins to the moon. the first man to alight on the moon was neil artstrong soon followed by buzz aldrin. michael collins manned the spacecraft.  it was an amazing day for those who witnessed it via live television, including me.  to view the historic event follow this link to youtube; there are several videos to enjoy:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTBIr65cL_E

    We sat glued to the folk's black and white TV watching it all!

    My husband and Neil Armstrong share the same hometown--Wapakoneta, Ohio. There is a decent Armstrong museum by the interstate. You can drive by Neil's childhood home. We met Neil's parents at my sister-in-law's wedding!

    I remember watching the moon landing and walk also. Very important date in America's history!
