solitude sunday

solitude sunday is our day to spend time with a book. my time with shady characters: the secret life of punctuation, symbols and other typographical marks by keith houston continues. the manicule was the focus of today's chapter. what is a manicule? that wee hand with the pointing finger in the margin of a page. it's pointing to something of significance, either by the writer or reader.

    1. The pointing finger, does it ever give a thumbs up--Craftin' was attempting to make a funny. I do like the manicule--neat to see them on a page.
