solitude sunday

solitude sunday at the whimsey project. our day to spend time with a book; especially books that have been waiting on the shelf for a long time.

having completed the massive american art history book, today i begin treasures from the attic, the extraordinary story of anne frank's family by mirjam pressler. the publisher's note, that begins the book, indicates that, in 2001, thousands of personal family papers and photographs were found in the attic of anne's cousin, buddy elias.  he and his wife, gertie, organized the documents into a family history. this family history is the basis of treasures from the attic.  thus far, throughout the narrative that i read this morning, the actual texts and photos of the collection are offered.

what are you reading for solitude sunday? share your book at the whimsey project.

  1. I would like to borrow this book when you finish. Read Anne Frank's diary long ago. This sounds interesting
