solitude sunday

solitude sunday at the whimsey project. our day to spend time with a book. any book will do, however, consider those books that have been waiting a long time to be read. share what you are reading!

another borrowed book (it's interesting to be away from home and read what others have on their bookshelves).  st louis: then and now by elizabeth mcnulty. lots of photographs and lots of history about the city of my birth. dredd scott, the arch to mark the gateway to the west, scott joplin, the 1904 world's fair that later became forest park filled with amazing treasures (the jewel box being my favorite), fried ravioli, and what high school did you go to? that's the st louis i knew and the st louis i found in st louis: then and now.
