trivia tuesday

trivia tuesday at the whimsey project!  share your fun, interesting, silly facts and/or experiences.

here's mine for trivia tuesday.  every morning the kitties line up in the kitchen to get a treat.  they are typically polite, waiting their turn, while i pass each one their morsel.  one morning i was passing out treats when i dropped one.  as it bounced, one of the kitties reached out a paw and stopped it at mid-bounce!  that action was so startling! after gasping in surprise, i laughed and laughed!  a professional athlete couldn't have made any greater play! NOT SOMETHING YOU SEE EVERY DAY!

  1. Kitty antics: One of my departed kitties, lived to be 21 1/2 yrs old before we lost her. She was a very sweet girl and I'm convinced she lived so old because of her excerizes when she was just a young thing. She even had a broken leg at a young age and had a rod inserted. She came into my life as a little thing when I worked at a small manufacturing facility. I worked in the office in the front, manufacturing in the back. Front was inclosed and air conditioned. But the door between was constantly opened and closed and many times left open. Because of that, we had an over abundance of flies during the warmer weather. Little Miss was a pro at jumping in the air and catching the flies between her front 2 paws. She would proceed to eat that fly (Yuck) and then move on to catching the next fly. Over and over and over again. Go exercise! Side note about her, I was the only gal who worked at the place for the majority of the time I was there and shared the front office with one of the engineers who happened to like cats. She also learned to hang around around the guys in the back when they were eating because they would feed her scrapes from their lunches. As a result, for the remainder of her life, she loves men and would sit in the lap of any guy who happened to visit our house, especially those who weren't crazy about cats or having them in their lap (my father in law!) and she also loved Pecan Sandies. So much that if a package was left out, we find it torn into in the morning and cookies munched. Silly, silly kitty, but she brought us lots of love during those 21, almost 22 years!
