thoughtful thursday

thanksgiving begins the reminder of the abundance many of us are fortunate to enjoy.  although, most likely for children, the season of abundance begins at halloween!  as we prepare for christmas, with lots of tasty food to munch and many gifts to give and receive, think of those who are in need.  consider these options and more to prepare for christmas:

*donate to the local food bank, participate in toys for tots or any other organization's christmas program.

*share baked goods with the local fire and police departments; leave something for those hearty souls that collect the trash.

*if there are children in the family, have them sort through their toys.  there is always something they have outgrown or no longer play with to give to other children.

*for those who are alone or dealing with a recent loss, send a christmas card or give them a gift; from secret santa if you wish.

truly, it is in giving that we receive the most.  warming hearts is my favorite holiday activity of all!

  1. the giving spirit is alive and well. yesterday, four people phoned to ask if i needed anything from town to prepare for the pending winter blast! and now, a day into ice and none-stop snow, a friend is outside clearing my driveway and sidewalks! ho ho ho! merry christmas! thank you one and all!
