not something you see every day!

here we are once again!  tuesday and NOT SOMETHING YOU SEE EVERY DAY! share your fun, unusual, interesting experiences with the whimsey project!

there was quite the NOT SOMETHING YOU SEE EVERY DAY! for our area in the last week.  last thursday mist turned to sleet.  sleet turned to ice.  snow mixed with the ice.  the snow didn't stop for 48 hours.  a sheet of ice and 13 inches of snow on everything!  and it's all still here!

  2. While shopping yesterday, I saw a sweet, very elderly couple. As I pulled into the parking lot, they were coming out of the store. Both husband and wife used canes and were obviously not very steady on their feet. The husband seemed more unstable and bent over than the wife did but he was still very careful to hold the door of the store open for his wife, took the shopping bag from her (in fact it seemed they had a little discussion about who would carry the bag), carried the bag while holding the cane and held his wife's elbow all the way to the car. Then when they got to the car, they had to stand by the passenger door while he dug the keys out from his pocket, unlocked the door and helped his wife in, making sure she was secure and had her seatbelt before he closed the door. Then he made his way, slowly, to the truck to put the shopping bag in, and then on around to his side of the car to get in. It was such a sweet sight, the man caring for the woman even tho he obviously needed caring for himself, that I had to sit in my car and watch them. I thought about getting out to help, but I could tell in his mind, this was his job. Seeing love in action is not something you see everyday, anymore.
