solitude sunday is our day to read a book. i continue with shady characters, the secret life of punctuation, symbols and other typographical marks by keith houston.  eric gill was an artist who created typography fonts. he authored a 1931 book entitled essay. included in this thesis written during the rise of industralization, gill stated that arts and crafts ideology was the blending of "simplicity of expression and richness of meaning".
