turkeys! turkeys! turkeys! suddenly there are turkeys in the yard all the time! a few days ago i was sitting on the screened porch when two tom turkeys strolled across the lawn. they were after the corn i throw in the grass for the birds and raccoon. as they pecked away i watched. burlap kitty was on the porch as well. soon they caught her attention and she watched, enchanted, for as long as they were in the yard. a photo of that scene, kitty spying turkeys, became yesterday's photo friday! if the turkeys aren't pecking the grass in the front of the house, they are pecking the grass behind the house at the bird feeding station. silly turkeys.
the kittens have now all been moved to porches. mama one moved her three to the screened porch (a hole in the screen allows access). mamas two and three moved their four kittens to the back porch. the world grows larger for the seven newbies. they are all romping and playing and exploring now. when they sleep, they sleep in a heap. it makes me laugh to see them piled on each other.
the scent of honeysuckle is strong in the air; fragrant and heady. the lightning bugs are active. the frogs are croaking. the birds singing. the insects chirping. the fish jumping. the turtles sunbathing. oh! the glories of spring as summer approaches.
fun- a pile of kitties!
ReplyDeleteThe honeysuckle is fragrant here too!
right now the honeysuckle is so enticing, the hummingbirds rarely visit the feeders. when the blossoms fade, they'll be back!
